12 Crafts of Christmas: Day 07 - Teddy In A Tin

This lovely little chap will make a great stocking filler. Teddy in a tin can be a source of comfort (it fits easily in a bag), something to play with, or help children with going to bed because when bedtime comes, teddy has to go to bed too! Instructions for making teddy’s sleeping bag are on our 12 Crafts of Christmas blog article but in addition you will need a tiny jointed teddy and a small tin (approximately 9cm x 6cm), both of which can be purchased on Amazon or eBay. Send us your photos or tag us on Instagram: @CotswoldCurtains #CC12CraftsOfChristmas

You will need:

Small jointed teddy (6cm - available on Amazon or eBay)
Small tin (approximately 9cm x 6cm, available on Amazon or eBay)
Two contrasting fabrics
Printed background (we have provided this)
Printed template for sleeping bag (we have provided this)
Sewing machine or needle and thread.

Method:

Cut out the sleeping bag template on paper and use it to cut out two pieces of contrasting fabric.

Sew the fabric together around the two long edges and one short edge, inside-out.

Turn the fabric the right way around and sew up the top edge.

Fold the bottom edge of the fabric up to half way up the ‘pillow’, then fold it back on itself to create a contrasting duvet top.

Pin and sew around the sleeping bag edges.

Place the teddy in the sleeping bag and put it in the tin.

Draw around the base of the tin on our printed background and cut it out.

Stick the background in the top of the tin using glue or double-sided tape.

If you like, you can also decorate and personalise the lid.

Your teddy in a tin is now ready to give as a gift.
